Permalink structure breaks sidebar????

Hello,

When I change the default permalink structure to any other (want to use /%postname%) my sidebar stops working. The sidebar no longer recognizes widget. It just displays the default search bar, archives and meta login. This indicates no widgets to display, but I do have widgets in the sidebar..!?

No widgetized items will display whether I specify a specific page or all single pages.

This works prefectly on another site of mine so I dont know why this time around its any different.

How can I use %postname% permalink structure and still use the default sidebar??

This conflict is unapparent to me.

I really need to clear this up ASAP!
