Permalink structure not working on select posts

This is a very strange occurrence.

I use the permalink structure: /%category%/%postname%/

For some reason, on a few select posts from time to time the permalink will not work.

99% of the time they work just fine.

When it doesn’t work, the post shows up like it normally would on the blog home page, but when you click on the link the page says “Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.” which is the message I have set when if the no posts exist, in single.php.

On the homepage however, it is able to pull data correctly, such as the excerpt, title, date, ect. But when I click the link it doesn’t find any posts.

When I put the default permalink structure on the post in question then works.

Any thoughts?
