Hi there, I am using the paid version of Yoast for WooCommerce and want to know if there is an option to set up permalinks in the most SEO friendly way. I am building a new website and seeing that to get to a product the URL varies in so many ways.

Example: domainname.com/shop/redsock.html is one way to access all products, then domainname.com/product-category/socks/red/redsock.html is another and I think that we can also access via domainname.com/redsock.html.

Is there a way to set it up so that URLs work like the following, I’m assuming that this is the best for SEO, please correct me if wrong.

    domainname.com/socks/redsock.html

or does the final URL need to be domainname.com/redsock.html

All products are only set to one subcategory.

I suppose this question is can Yoast help me set this up or do I need to use a permalink manager plugin or canonical URL plugin and am I going about this the right way?

    Hi,

You mentioned that you have an active subscription of Yoast WooCommerce SEO, so if you have any questions relating to support for that plugin, you can contact us directly — https://yoast.com/help/support/#premium

With that being said, the Yoast WooCommerce SEO plugin or the main Yoast SEO for WordPress plugin can’t help with your inquiry related to permalink structure changes. Your question is a bit outside the scope of the support we provide. Giving?SEO advice, in most cases, requires a deep analysis of your site to provide accurate advice for your specific setup, even for what may seem to be a simple question.

At Yoast, we want to help people improve their site and to make SEO attainable for everyone. So we offer?Yoast Academy?courses which are included in our Yoast SEO Premium subscription, several great plugins, and a?comprehensive SEO blog.
