permalinks – 404 Not Found error

Hello,
There’s a few issues happening with the site. It started with a time out error and has escalated to permalinks. I can login but cannot get to the dashboard – 500 error and permalinks are now broken :/ I pasted the original htaccess file below, I recently just switched to a simplified htaccess. I’m using filezilla to try and fix this.. If anyone can help that would be amazing.
