    Hi,

I managed to get the permalinks working after some time, and tried some testing on a keyphase i would like the new site to rank for.

I managed to get a good start rank and measured it for some time, tweaking here and there to improve further.

The page that is being tested is the site home page https://www.network-cabling-installation.co.uk and the rankings software has been showing this page.

However just lately the rankings have gone down but the Google search engine does not rank the previous address but https://www.network-cabling-installation/home – this page was set as home for permalink purposes as it will not allow a blank permalink.

I have not done anyting with the permalinks, does any one have any idea how i can remove the /home permalink or stop the search engines from finding this URL and revert back to finding my proper home page URL https://www.network-cabling-installation.co.uk

I think if the search engines revert back to finding the original URL, then my rank will go back up again.

Just for reference i set my home page up as a post and the subsequent pages were set up as pages.

This advice will also help me in setting up future sites this way.

    Thanks in advance,

    Paul.
