Permalinks and Slugs

Hello Yoast Team,

I am having an issue with the way slugs and permalinks work.

On the Yoast edit box on each woocommerce product page, the slug is not showing the categories and sub categories in the same way the permalinks are shown.

I have commented on another post and I believe they are having the same issue.

I am trying to find a solution as I cannot find any information about this issue.

The yoast SEO slug url shows
mysite.com/slug

But the permalink is
mysite.com/shop/category/sub-category/slug

When accessing mysite.com/slug and mysite.com/shop/category/sub-category/slug they go to the same place but 2 different URLS.

How do i get the yoast slug to show the categories and sub categories? Looks like they are being stripped.
