Permalinks and Trackbacks from another site on your site

Do you have permission to reprint these articles? Or do you mean just mentioning the article and directing people to it?

They’re free-reprint Creative Commons-style articles. I mean reprinting the full text, but directing ultimate discussion of the article, as opposed to whatever it has to do with my site locally, to the original site.

I don’t know what you mean about mentioning the article and directing people to it–how would that be different from a link?

This is a pretty basic issue, I think. I can’t have been the first person to have this question.

No, you can’t do that out of the box. Permalinks weren’t designed to do that.

Unless you want to create some custom code, best to just close comments and link to website2.com.

Hmm. Appears I misunderstood the thrust of the question….

I think you could do this with .htaccess. I don’t know that you could do this with the in-built wp permalinks. If you have permission from the original authors, no reason you couldn’t do it through .htaccess.

But don’t ask ME how. I have not a clue. Sorry.
