• Hi there,

I’m very happy with your plugin and use it on almost every site we develop! I only ran into a, for us, rather big issue.

We optimized our site with a lot of custom permalinks, but when we installed WPML for an english version of our website it turned out both plugins are not compatible…

Of course I mentioned it first to WPML. They told me they have put the issue through to theur Themes & Plugins Compatibility Team and asked me to inform the developer of custom permalinks to speed up the proces.

We are having quite big SEO problems at the moment, because we had to turn of custom permalinks to show the english version. So if you could have a look at the bug, it would be highly appreciated.

I tried to describe the issue as clear as possible:

I use “custom permalinks” plugin through my whole site, and it works perfectly, until WPML came by. For the first language (dutch) everything still works fine, for the 2nd (english) it’s messing up the entire site. English translations are disappearing, wrong permalinks are created (/en/en/ instead of /en/) which results in 404 redirects, and I’m not able to get the translated posts back. I spend a lot of time translating everything and now half of the work is just gone… Can you please help??

    I have wordpress 3.9.2
    WPML Multilingual CMS 3.1.5
    WPML media 2.15
    Custom Permalinks 0.7.19

    Hopefully you can help.

    Kind regards,

    Arthur

I am facing same issue. If there is any work around this, please let us know. This also happens with wordpress 4.0

    Thanks.

    (Almost) Same problem here too:

WPML puts “home-2” at the end of the URL of the translated homepage,
    e. g.: https://www.xxxxxxxx.yyy/en/home-2/

Any help will be REALLY appreciated!

I have a client using WPML and Custom Permalinks. We use Custom Permalinks because my SEO colleague uses it to optimize sites. Well, it seems the two plugins do not work well together. In our case, we are getting a double slash after the domain name. Doing my research I found this:

I have not tried Polylang yet nor the migration from WPML to Polylang, but it appears this could be a fix. I’ll post hear again once I know more. I hope the creators of these plugins talk and get them working together. They both seem to be popular plugins. Has anybody else come across this problem? Did you resolve it?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Hi I changed yesterday my custom structure permalink to:
    /%category%/%postname%

And also changed the categories subcategories for my posts.

However now when I search for some topics in google, it takes you to a 404 page on the site?

    Please can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Same issue here.
WPML and this plugin don’t work
It works for one language, but not for 2 languages.
    Anyone found a solution?
