• I created a wordpress site for an organization. When I setup the wordpress site, I hosted it on a subdirectory.

ETHMYOUTH.ORG/WORDPRESS1 and ETHM.ORG/WORDPRESS1 (the site runs on both domains)

I copied the index.php and wp-config.php (I have no .htaccess) files to the root directory so the website now appears on ETHM.ORG and ETHMYOUTH.ORG

I am trying to update my permalinks from the default permalinks, however, I keep getting the following error

    “404: Page not found
This error is generated when there was no web page with the name you specified at the web site.

    Troubleshooting suggestions:

Ensure the page you are linking to exists in the correct folder.

Check your file name for case sensitivity . Index.htm is not the same as index.htm!

Temporarily disable any rewrite rules by renaming your .htaccess file if it exists.

I don’t have an .htaccess file. Any suggestions on how to correct this error?
