• Our site had been setup with the default permalinks for 2 years. After moving our site to a new server, we changed the permalinks structure to make the URLs sound more natural.

Now if you type the old URL, it’s automatically redirected to the new URL which is great. My only concern is if Google might consider these as duplicates. As of today, Google is still showing the old URLs, but we submitted a new sitemap with the updated ones. Any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

  • No – they won’t be classed as duplicates but you could speed up Google’s re-indexing of your site and ensure that the new urls are treated as conical by submitting a Google sitemap.

Thanks Esmi. I already submitted an updated Google sitemap.

Then you should be fine. ??
