• Is there a way to setup a permalink for pages in wordpress? but not posts?

I wanted to call my “about me” page, instead of,
    /?page_id=2
    have it say
    /about/

    instead, so
I was going to use /%postname%/ but that changes the posts (the /?p=1 stuff) which isn’t what I wanted to do.

all i really wanted to do is change
    /?page_id=2

    to

    /about/

    is that possible somehow?

  • It’s not a selective whislist ??
    I’s all or nothing.
If the posts’ permalink changes from /?p=234 to “my-new-post-title’ > then Pages are changed, too.

Note. Postname alone usually causes problems. Put something else, too.

I know, its just doesn’t look good to say something like

    /archives/about

    or /yyyy/mmm/ddd/about/

that just looks dumb ?? so I dunno what to do but just leave it how it is with the /?page_id…oh well, thanks anyway

um, it won’t be /archives/about if About is a page.

    thats what I’m asking…

    so like, could I do

/archives/postslug/ if its a post, and
    /about/ if its a page?

    thats basically what I’m asking?

I’m wondering how this is done? because I have seen it done on other blogs so I know it can be done I’m just trying to figure out how they were able to do it?
