Permalinks for pages not working

  • Hello,

    My wordpress website suddenly has broken.

    It was running fine, but then suddenly the “Post name” permalink structure has broken. While other permalink structure are working, this one is broken.

    I have disabled all plugin to test. But still the same problem. No new code has been incorporated in the website before it was broken.

    Any help will be much appreciated.

    Some input to the problem. While this permalink string “/%post_id%” is working, neither “/%postname%/” or “/%postname%” is working.

    Have you spoken to your hosts about this?

    This is happening is my local server. Links like https://localhost/wordpress/about-us/ opens up but the content is home page content and the site title is from the first post.

    Not sure what is happening, as it has suddenly happened. However, if the permalink structure is “%post_id%” it works fine.

    That sounds like a problem with mod_rewrite.

    Ok, but how to solve it. It’s a issues that has occurred in the last 24 hours for a website that is running for 3 months.

    As it seems to be a server issue, I have no idea, I’m afraid. Have you ruled out the usual culprits like theme and plugins?

    I disabled all plugins and tried with no result. The strange thing it’s it was working fine 24 hours ago, and still is with a different permalink structure.

    And the theme?

    I disabled the theme, enabled another theme. Everything worked fine. Then re-enable the old theme.

    Everything worked fine for a few mins.Then it’s back to the old problem.

    Any idea what is happening ?

    What happens if you switch to another theme for (say) 30 minutes?
