Permalinks not updating when moved to root

I tried the new file on a couple of my sites but it did not work. And this issue is happening on multiple sites.

One thing I noticed is that it is the HOME page that this occurs. If I use the share buttons on a page other than the home page it seems OKAY. This seems to be similar to a related issue I had posted. Where the socializer on the HOME page acted up.

I also tried to search the MySQL database to see if I could identify a culprit, but nothing jumped out.

I’m stumped!

Are you using shortcode or widget to enable sharing icons at your websites where you are facing this issue?

Actually I have multiple sites that I noticed this occurs on and some use shortcode in the footer or elsewhere, others use the default “on bottom of pages” option in the plugin settings. It seems only to happen in the home pages, and I just only noticed now.

One fix I am using is the 301 Simple Redirect Plugin to redirect inquiries from the original subdirectory to the home page. Which helps, but I am still perplexed as to why only the home page. Most of my work is rebuilds so we need to work in a subdirectory first so the existing site stays live while we are in beta.

Let us know what you have saved in WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) options at Settings > General page in admin area.

In all cases I am using the standard entries. For example:

WordPress Address: https://www.mreconewengland.org/marine_renewable_energy

Site Address: https://www.mreconewengland.org/

I even did a search in the MySQL database directly to check and it is delivering these.
