Permalinks not working after update 4.3.1 (?post_type=)

I would follow basic WordPress troubleshooting steps as follows:
1) Disable all plugins and themes (this is just temporary for troubleshooting purposes).
2) Test site by saving your permalinks settings and then seeing if you get the expected permalink structure
3) If step two fails – the permalinks don’t match expected structure on a default WordPress installation – I suggest doing a manual re-install of WordPress.
4) A manual re-install of WordPress is where you download the latest version and upload it to your server overwriting all WordPress core files *except* the wp-config.php file and the wp-content folder. Don’t overwrite these!
5) Repeat step 2 (save permalinks and test). If everything works, re-enable all your plugins and themes and test again to confirm.
6) Now if everything worked great back in step 2, it’s time to test your theme. Re-enable your custom theme and test to see if the permalinks work correctly. If they do, great, we’ll move on to testing plugins. If not – contact the theme developer for support.
7) If the theme works, we move on to testing plugins. Enable a plugin and test. If everything works, move on to enabling another plugin and test that. Continue until all plugins have been enabled and tested or until testing shows a failure. If you spot a failure, note which plugin you last enabled and contact that plugin developer for support.

Through this process you should be able to identify what is causing the issue and get it resolved.

The permalink structure is correct for all of the pages/posts, however, if the post is scheduled for the future the permalink is incorrect.

I can view the post fine when I am logged into the dashboard, but when i log out and view the post as a visitor to the page the link brings up a 404.

Uhmm.. if it’s a post that’s scheduled for future publishing then normal users should not be able to see the post, so it would make sense to get a 404 page.

Or, are you saying that the permalink doesn’t work after the post has been published?

The correct url should simply be https://moyolapark-fc.com/match/3789/

For some unknown reason it is adding in ?post_type=tb_match&p=

If the date for the match (which it is always going to be as it is a football fixture) is in the future it won’t work.

It was working fine until the recent update, for some reason it won’t work anymore.

Might try going into Settings -> Permalinks, make sure the correct one selected and do Save Changes (even if it already is selected). Oh wait, I see. The Permalink does work but the links inside that widget or whatever isn’t using them. I’d still re-save the permalink settings.

What widget or plugin is doing those? Also, I looked at https://moyolapark-fc.com/match/3789/ and noticed this in the code:

The canonical link should be your Permalink. That shortlink also causes a Not Found page.

Thanks for the quick reply, I am using Themeboy football club fixtures widget, it display the upcoming fixtures, and once the fixture date has passed you can update it with the match result.

I have went into settings -> permalinks and tried a few different setting but nothing seems to work and the error still appears ??

So the issue may be with the widget – have you contacted the widget developer for support?

I have made it excally that way you have post at the beggining. After step 4 it still didnt work for me (theme and all plugins were turned off). I had clear WP and I still had 404 at every post… Do you have any idea what can be wrong?
