Permalinks not working, even page preview doesn't show

  • Hi all,

    I just inherited a wordpress site which I’m currently trying to get working locally (tried MAMP as well as the VCCW vagrant box). Unfortunately, permalinks don’t work… I know this is a common issue, but here’s what I did so far:

    – I re-saved the permalinks in the settings (also tried setting the format to default)
    – mod_rewrite is loaded and enabled in the httpd.conf
    – I also added

    <Directory />
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
    AllowOverride All
</Directory>

    … everything to no avail. Also, when I click “Pages” in the admin panel, the entries are shown, but they don’t load when I click them (neither a preview nor the content itself). :-/

    Do you have any idea what else I could do?

    Ah never mind, I figured it’s an incompatibility issue with the latest WP version. Instead of using a fresh install and just replacing wp-content, I pulled the intire installation from the server and now it works. Anyway, thanks for reading! :-)
