• Hi all, I am really sruggling and have tried everything I have found online to resolve this problem.
Plugins disabled, htaccess file works, reset urls –

permalinks works on default but not on any custom setting.
    I get :

No configuration file found and no installation code available

How do I check or change the configuration file? I asked my server host (justhost) and they say it is a software problem, they can’t help.

would really appreciate some help, thanks!

  • Have you tried just blowing up the install and doing it over. Also you need mod_rewrite enabled in order for pretty permalinks to work.

    Thanks thatruth!

Yes, my service provider reinstalled my site today.
Would you mind telling me how to enable the mod_rewrite?

It’s an apache module, your host should be able to enable it if it isn’t already enabled.

Thanks, have checked that and it is enabled. Still won’t work.
    Any other ideas anybody please?

Talk to your host. As them if there’s something special you need to do. But this is a server issue ??

I asked them and they say it is a software issue. If it is a server issue then it wouldn’t have worked previously. It started when I uploaded the latest WordPress version.

Hmmm, that is a tough one without being able to see it. If mod_rewrite is on, then this should be working. Activated any new plugins lately?

    He said plugins were disabled.

Try switching to the Twenty Eleven theme.

Also check what version of PHP you’re running.
