    HI @markclifford

    Thank you for contacting us!

I’m not quite sure if I get what the issue is. By looking at the two screenshots, the only difference – besides obviously a different title and slug (which is expected if those are two differently titled posts) – is that the “how it is” screenshot includes this line below title field:

    53 characters left

This isn’t a bug, doesn’t affect how site works and is due to one of SmartCrawl features. Specifically, it’s related to the “Title & Meta” module of the plugin which counts characters used in title (and description) in order to help you meet search engine’s expectations (or rather – recommendations).

If this isn’t what you meant, please explain the issue a bit more and we’ll be happy to look into it.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Hello Adam,

It’s not really a bug, more annoying UI. Surely the counter should be next to permalink rather than below it causing a massive gap –> https://a.cl.ly/xQuxGbAJ

Am I able to disable this SmartCrawl feature if you don’t plan on fixing it?

    Hi @markclifford,

Could we know whether it’s interfering with any existing plugin or workflow? Or more about a UI suggestion?

However, I do get you and I’m reporting this to our developer’s attention to check whether we could consider improving the UI when it comes to using the Classic Editor.

Thanks for the suggestion. Have a nice day ahead.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin

    Hi @markclifford,

I can confirm this request has been raised to our SmartCrawl team’s attention to check the possibility of improving this down the plugin’s roadmap.

Since you don’t have any further queries, I’ll go ahead and mark this as resolved.

Please feel free to re-open the thread if you need further assistance regarding this topic.

    Regards,
    Nithin
