• Hello

How do I get only the first of %postname%

for example my permalinks while using %postname%
and when I make a post.
My post title is “Title of this post”.
which my permalinks becomes (default): site.com/title-of-this-post

Now, I wanted it to become like this
    site.com/title

  • Hi there,

You can overwrite the auto-generated permalink on the edit page.
It’s underneath the page title, you can click the /title-of-this-post/ part and enter a different title. But I’m afraid you would have to do this for each page.

I don’t think you should automate this. Because you’ll risk the possibility of auto-generating the same url twice. With that in mind the name should be unique or else it will auto append a number (site.com/title-1, site.com/title-2, etc.).

    I don’t mind having (site.com/title-1, site.com/title-2, etc.).

I’m having trouble how to find the code in the wp for these kind of things.
