• Hello everyone,

I tried to switch my permalinks from default ones to SEF and my posts would return a 404! This is a common problem out there! Some speak of pretty links etc but I want a simple straightforward solution! Another problem that I’m facing is that now with even the default permalinks, my posts don’t show up on main page. My posts are in categories!! Please help! Thanks

Thanks for the link! I updated my .htaccess with the code but nothing good. Would I ever be able to change my old ugly links to fancy SEF ones??

I need a plain, simple, non-formal guide! Is it possible?

I don’t mean to butt in on this thread, but it looks like it is resolved and I can’t find out how to add a new one.

I uploaded “Deans Permalink Migrator” plugin while working on optimizing a blog for a friend, and her administrator went in a deleted all of the plugins without even asking for permission. When they deleted the permalink migration plugin, every page and post cannot be found.

I’ve tried pretty much everything I know. I uploaded the migration plugin, that didn’t work. So I deactivated it and returned to the original permalink sructure (/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/) and still nothing is happening.

I just need to know how to get these pages and posts showing again.

P.S. Click on the pages found on the left side of the home page.

Have you tried switching back to default?? I had the same problem, and I switched back to default permalinnks and it works. It may help?, and I still have that problem! ??

    Yes I did, nothing.

When you say the posts/pages cannot be found, do you mean only on the front-end of the website? Or have they disappeared from the back-end admin section as well?

They don’t appear on the front end only! I messed up the permalinks, perhaps it has something to do with it! I changed permalinks from default to some other, but the page returned 404 error, so I switched it back! My front page is messed up! ?? Front page says “No categories”, whereas, there are no categories > “No Categories”!
