permalinks problem (post name not working)

    i want the permalinks to be ‘post name’, but whenever i do that, i get this message.

    The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

    any idea why this is happening?

    Check with your hosts that mod_rewrite is running on your server.
