• Current versions of WordPress, Woocommerce and Storefront Theme with a Child-Theme – but it’s the same without the child.

    What I’d like to achieve:
    Product categories: /shop/category/subcategory
    Product: /shop/category/subcategory/product
    Post categories: /category
    Post: /category/post

Somehow categories and product categories are linked in my setup – as soon as I change the non-product category path, product categories show a “page not found” error.
currently the product categories are the only thing 100% correct. non-product categories are not reachable at all, posts are reachable without the category in the URL, and products are reachable at /product/productname. Also, as soon as I change the Product permalinks, the product URLs correctly include the categories, but the categories themselves produce the “page not found” error.

    Current (obviously wrong) Settings:
    Common Settings: Post name
    Category base: shop
    Tag base: shop
    Product category base: shop
    Product tag base: shop
    Product permalinks: Default

Any ideas how to make this work?
