    Hi
Is there a way to permanently block IP addresses that are attempting to log in with an invalid (i.e. unused) username.

I’m getting numerous hits from the same IP address attempting to log in with different invalid usernames. Currently I’ve got WordFence set up to block them immediately but it only blocks for the time specified in the “Amount of time the user is locked out for” field. I’d like to be able to automatically add them to a black list

    TIA

Should have said also – the sites I’m looking to implement this on only have a small number of users who could can log in so I can whitelist their IP addresses just in case they mistype their login name

    Hi @trevorwood

Once an IP is listed on the Current blocks for… section on the Firewall >> Blocking page you can permanently block the IP address if you want by selecting the IP address and using the MAKE PERMANENT button.
