Ok, do not ask me why but I permanently deleted the demo home page that was created via the theme custimazations. How do I get that one back?

Actually, the question in short is: How to get the “Install dummy data” button back ??

You can restore home page from trash.

“Install dummy data” option can be used once.
You can see this message near button.

You can add content to home page using shortcodes, or make new wordpress installation.

Yes, I would have been able to restore it from the trash if I had not emptied the trash. But I did.

And I read that message near the button too.

It is quite a heavy cannon to use, to do a new wordpress installation just to get the demo data back…

You want to see duplicates of home page and media files if button will be always available?

Demo content at the moment it’s a

    1. Add new page with name “Home”
    2. Home page setup in “reading settings”, front page displays > home
    2. Lipsum text with shortcodes, [fruitful_slider], [description], [info_box] added to “Home” content.
    3. Import images to media gallery
    4. Upload images to slider in theme option.

If you have normal installation, you must push install dummy data button only once.

    Resolved?

I cheated. In stead of a new full wordpress install (which was not an option), I temporarily installed the theme on a different site and copied the data over. Corrected the links to the buttons and added the images back to the slider. Those were still in the media library.

I still think it would be nice to always have the dummy data button available with a warning that it will create a page called ‘Home’ or overwrite the current content of the existing ‘Home’ page.

So, in conclusion, yes for me it is resolved.

Thanks for your proposition. We will think about it.
