    got the following error message installing wordpress on a Windows box.

    Permission denied in C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wordpress\wp-admin\includes\misc.php on line 638

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • All I can suggest is to make sure your Windows box is set up with the WordPress minimum requirements. Look here.

    Then make sure your SQL user account has full permissions.

    C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wordpress\wp-admin\includes\misc.php on line 638

    if you’re on a windows server there is something wrong with that – should look like
    C:\Inetpub\wwwroot/wordpress/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 638

    is this your box or do you have a host?
