I have updated plugin to 4.0.2 and when I am trying to replace the media with Replace the file, use the new file name, and update all links and uploading in specific folder it gives me error “Specified directory is outside the upload directory. This is not allowed for security reasons”.

When I try to replace the pdf file with just replace the file option it gives error “string(264) “The uploaded file could not be moved to D:\inetpub\[siteurl]/wp-content/uploads/sites/45/D:/inetpub/[siteurl]/wp-content/uploads/sites/45/2021/12/filename. This is most likely an issue with permissions, or upload failed.””

we have multisite installation on Microsoft-IIS version 10 and php version is 7.4

    Hi prachi2patel,

Can you please try to upload a new file, then replace it using both versions 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 and see if it works like that?

Just to clarify: if a file is corrupted for any reason at the DB level (wrong paths for example), replacing it won’t work for that reason. This is why I’m kindly asking you to test this with a new file (especially for version 4.0.2 because it has an additional fix for the cases when temporary files cannot be removed due to permission errors).

    Thank you,

    Hello @prachi2patel,

Version 4.1.1 of our plugin should have resolved this issue. Please update to that version and re-open this thread if you still get the same error after upgrading.

    Thank you!
