I’m trying to connet a woocommerce shop to fb using the facebook for woocommerce plug, but It seems like if the plugin is tryng to connect facebook with another website.

After entering the correct userid and psw for facebook I get back this message

"You don't have permission to edit these settings. Reach out to the admin of '[WRONG DOMANI URL]' to gain access."

The error refers to a web url I’ve never hear about. I saw many other posts here but averyone else error refers to it’own domain.

How can I fix this ?

    p.s.
    I’m not the website creator

  • Hi @fattimiei,

It sounds like the Facebook account was connected to another website before.

Also, having admin access to the page isn’t quite enough permission, as required by Business Manager. You have to be the admin and the owner of the business manager and related assets.

Can you please confirm if the Facebook account you are connecting to is yours?

I confirm I’m trying to connect with my own fb account and I’ve never heard about the [wrong domain]. Nothing in my fb account or facebook BM has ever been related to th [wrong domain]; also for fb page of the [wrong domain].
It seems like the fb plugin request starts from [wrong domain] and not my website.
Is there any db table I can check?

    Hi @fattimiei

Thanks for sharing the additional information that you have no connection with the domain.

Can you navigate to https://YOURSITE.com/wp-admin/options.php and search for the field wc_facebook_external_business_id.

If this is populated with some details such as store-name-98asihsaoihas can you please change the last string of characters (starting with “98” in my example) to another random combination of letters and numbers. Please then try reconnecting.

If that doesn’t work, could you try removing the connection to Facebook entirely following the steps here:
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/facebook-for-woocommerce/facebook-for-woocommerce-uninstall-plugin-and-remove-woocommerce-facebook-app/

And then please try reinstalling and starting from scratch.

Let us know how that goes!
