• I have been installing about 5 different plugins to test capabilities and permissions editing for my site. However, now I have deactivated them all, my “admin” account cannot see certain plugins (when I try to go directly to the right page for the plugin administration, I get met with a “you do not have enough permissions” error.

I presume one or more of the plugins has done this. Does anyone know how I can get my permissions back?! I’ve also had a look in the MySQL database, but cannot figure out how it gets its permissions. I’m happy to play around in MySQL if anyone has an idea from that end!

  • Try resetting the plugins folder by phpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Hey,

Thanks for your help! I’ve disabled all plugins, and enabled just the one plugin I would normally see on the admin sidebar (simplepress forum). Same problem.

I then created a second admin account – same issue! So I guess it’s to do with the administrator role. Can anyone help in resetting the role in MySQL?
