Permlinks – custom link – wont save my changes – ahhh

    WordPress 2.6. Changing Permlinks from default to custom. I made a mistake when I first entered the address eg:

    /http:/www.domainname/%postname%

    as you can see I put the slash in the slash in the wrong place.

    Anyway – went back to amend, press save and guess what – the wrong link keeps showing up.

    Any ideas, no cache running but cleared it anyway.

    Where can I force it – wheres it saved in the database?

  • Is this exactly what you put in the custom structure box?

    /http:/www.domainname/%postname%

    Because that’s wrong. You’d just put:

    %postname%

    But I think I’ve heard you can have problems when you use only the post name (I could be totally wrong about that) and should do something like:

    /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%

    I myself use:

    /%year%%monthnum%%day%/%postname%
