PG Context Sidebar in combination with WPML

    This plugin works like a charm, thanks! I am wondering whether I can get it to work in combination with The WordPress Multilingual Plugin (WPML).

    In response to the same question, WPML answers:

    “The PG Context Sidebar plugin may display content in different languages if it’s using the WordPress API in a clean way. WPML hooks to the WordPress API calls and changes them so that plugins return only content in the current language. I’m not sure how the plugin works, but if it uses the standard WordPress content types and queries, it will not correctly with WPML. In any case, if you have some flexibility and can either edit the code or get the plugin developer to make small edits, I’m sure that we can make it fully multilingual-ready for you.””

    Could you tell me if the combination already might work and if not, if you’d be willing to work with us to make it work?

    Hi throwingmarbles,

    I’m so glad that you are enjoying the plugin and suggestions are always welcome. I have used the standard WordPress API for internationalisation (translations etc) so according to the WPML site it should work automatically right now with their plugin,

    If it needs some change to make it more compatible then I am happy to do anything to fix compliance with API standards (and also happy to consider other changes if I think they are for the benefit of all users)

    I have contacted WPML and told them I am willing to work with them to make sure our plugins ‘play nicely’

    I’m glad it worked as it’s meant to – WordPress is clever isn’t it!

    I have also received an invitation from WPML and will read through that to make sure it works just as well for all other users.
