I’m currently evaluating the free version, to see if it does what I want it to do. I’ve created two categories, with 2-3 subcategories in each, with 2-3 products in each sub-category. One of the two categories (let’s call it A) works fine in all respects.

The other (category B) has subcategories B1 (3 products) and B2 (another 3 products). B1 works fine, but B2 is acting strangely.

Firstly, on the product page, I get the B2 products appearing at the top of the catalogue, just on their own, no category description or anything, and only the B2 ones, not the whole B category. Then, below them, I have the full A category (description and all products), followed by the full B category (ditto) including the B2 products that already appeared on the top of the page.

Also, looking at the product counts in each (sub)category, the system seems to think that there are 9 products in category B, whereas there are only 6. So it’s almost as if the B2 products are counted twice, which sort of makes sense because they also appear twice on the page!

I’ve checked all the products to make sure they are allocated to the correct subcategories (which they are). I’ve also deleted that troublesome B2 subcategory and recreated it, and the same problem persists.

Any idea what could be causing this?

    TIA ??

[PS — I’m using Version 4.3.11 of the Product Catalog, and WordPress 4.9.6]

  • Hi robaa,

It looks like you added the individual products and also the categories themselves to the catalog. You could check this by navigating to the “Catalogues” tab and clicking on the appropriate catalogue will show you the products/categories you have added to it. So, if you have added products to the catalog and then again added categories too, it’ll first show the individual products that are there and then products from the categories again.

Many thanks for coming back so quickly, and more to the point resolving the issue – you are right, that was indeed the problem, and now it’s gone! ??

    Many thanks,
    robaa
