• Very frustrated with not being able to delete some phantom “variations” from my catalog.

I have four product type: “variations” each with their own ID. I did not set these up and I do not want them. However, I cannot see anything other than my one test product listed in my catalog and the test product does not have any variations/attributes. I do not have any variations/attributes created at all.

I also deleted the “dummy_data.” But this did not remove these variations.

These variations exist somewhere because I see them every time I do a product .csv export.

  • If you are at all comfortable with SQL you can try this article here for some help:
    https://www.remicorson.com/select-delete-woocommerce-orphaned-variations/

If not, have you tried disabling the plugin and then restarting it? I don’t mean to give a dumbed down reply, but this seems to be the issue with this a lot.
If that still doesn’t work, could you send over a link to your shop if it is up and running? Probably wouldn’t give me much information, but I work better if I can see something.

Thanks for the reply Joey. Store is https://autokraftparts.com

I deactivated all plugins and then reenabled but these variations still show.

I haven’t ever run sql queries on wordpress, or ever. Perhaps a google search will point me in the right direction with how to perform one. Orphaned variations certainly seems to be the issue I have. Looks like there isn’t anything one can do about it other than the sql query?

    Try:
Dashboard > WooCommerce > Status > Tools tab – click “Delete orphaned variations”

IT WORKED! AMAZING! And SO simple! Thanks very much for showing me that. Hopefully this useful tool will help others that run into the same issue.

I suppose my first problem was not being able to correctly identify my issue. The best I could come up with was “phantom variations.” Note: “Orphaned variations”

Good to know there’s a simple way of doing that.
