Pharma hack victim looking to clean-up, close back doors
-
I have fallen victim to some form of the infamous “pharma hack” which ads a bunch of spam-y pharmacy related text and links to your site. I’ve worked through many of the fixes online and haven’t been able to clear up my problem and I’m looking for insight.
Site: splodinator.com
When I Google my site, the name comes up as “Buy Amoxicillin No Prescription” (which it certainly is not supposed to be, haha). Using the Fetch as Googlebot tool in Google’s Wedmaster Tools I do see some Amoxicillin references in the title and other places, but I can’t find any weird code/spam links.
I updated my site’s name in WordPress a little while ago to try to fix this, and it mostly did. When Google re-crawled my site, it displayed as Splodinator for awhile, but the name has been switched back again. Once I’ve figured out how to secure my site, will there be other clean-up necessary?
I’m guessing there is a backdoor which I have been unable to find that is allowing the hackers to re-enter my site and re-infect it. Any ideas on how to locate this? Again, I’ve worked through many of the guides online to fix this, and none have worked for me.
Any insight into this would be much appreciated. Thanks!
