Phone number changing itself

  • Hi guys!

    I’m having a very confusing issue with our WordPress site. One of the computers here keeps changing our clickable 1800 number by itself!

    We have checked the number on mobiles, different browsers etc. with no issue whatsoever – but one person at least (we think a customer has had the same issue) visits our website and it quickly reverts to an unknown 1800 number. We have called the number and it rings for ages (1m + ) and then finally connects to an answering machine. We have not set this up and have not seen any of the numbers its changing to before (it has changed 3+ times now, and on every page). Is this a scam or something??

    Any help much appreciated!!

  • That is odd. Perform a scan with WordFence to see if there is any malicious code within your site.

    Hi there,

    WordFence keeps stopping before getting to the Malware section, but I think I have solved it anyway!

    Needed to add site as a “Trusted site” on the browser! Have not seen that before!
