Photo Doesn't Display on Network Site Using Domain Mapping

i installed this plugin for a site on a WP network that’s domain mapped to a separate domain (somesite.foo.com > somesite.com) and the photo doesn’t display if you upload it from the subdomained user account (somesite.foo.com/wp-admin/user-edit.php).

it displays fine, however, if you the external URL option.

this is more an FYI than an issue, but i find it interesting that all other image uploads work across the site (eg, within pages/articles, favicon, logo, etc), but not the author photo.
