• Hi there,

Just installed the plugin which is great. I have now Events Calender Pro and Tribe Wootickets installed. Events page is set on the photo display mode, is there a shortcode to get it in this mode on the homepage? I didn’t see it yet. Saw the calender version and other possibilities but the ‘photo event’ display is my favorite lay out.

Would love to hear from you guys and thanks for your time

    Best,

There’s no shortcode to do this – but if you have set photo view as your default events view then you should be able to get it onto your homepage by changing the WP settings to use the Main Events Page as a “static front page”.

    Does that help?

Then can I still get other information on the homepage except for the events? I think I can’t. Thereby I can’t find my …/events/ page as a page? Is that common? What am I doing wrong here, don’t get it.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, but if you followed this route you’d need to do some additional work – customizing the relevant events templates to add back any other content you need is one way.

An alternative could be to set up a regular static homepage and embed events using the [event_embed] shortcode – and customize those to make it look and behave like photo view.

Events live in the posts table and can be edited much like regular blog posts (as can venues and organizers, assuming you have PRO installed). The other views generated by The Events Calendar – such as list view, calendar view and photo view – do not however live as editable pages so you won’t see them in your list of pages.

    Barry thanks for your input.

Any clue how I can customize the event embed short code to make it look and behave like the photo view or does it require a lot of php knowledge?

I indeed have pro installed and hoped it would be easier but im very thankful for you help.

If you have any suggestions or tips how can install it with the alternative you were mentioning?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jan,

I wouldn’t say it requires a huge amount of PHP knowledge, but you would have to know how to enqueue scripts within the WordPress environment and feel comfortable working with some Javascript.

    These resources could be helpful:

That should get you on track ??

Remember there is a also a wiki that covers interaction with the [event_embed] shortcode.

    Good luck!
