Photo gallery leaves spaces for comments

Hi
I have a lot of photo galleries on my site. Until recently they were working just fine. Now suddenly if you click on the gallery carousel a huge space appears on the left for comments, which I have disabled. The photo is now shoved over to the right of the screen, as though it’s scared out of its wits. It looks absurd. Does anyone know how to get rid of this feature?
