No images are showing up when I try to share the post to Facebook. When I try to debug the post, this is the error message that Facebook shows me:

fb:app_id hasn’t been included in the meta tags. Specify the app ID so that stories shared to Facebook will be properly attributed to the app. Alternatively, app_id can be set in url when open the share dialog. Otherwise, the default app id( 966242223397117 ) will be assigned.

Appreciate any help – I didn’t have this problem when I shared a post 2 weeks ago. Thanks!

Please provide the URL for a post where this is happening.

I also am receiving the following message on the debug page:

“fb:app_id hasn’t been included in the meta tags. Specify the app ID so that stories shared to Facebook will be properly attributed to the app. Alternatively, app_id can be set in url when open the share dialog. Otherwise, the default app id( 966242223397117 ) will be assigned”

I finally managed to avoid the “generic head” icon that suddenly started appearing while sharing my WordPress blog post on Facebook by manually selecting a photo in the Social Settings tab of the AIOSEO section of the post page.

Thanks to the AIO SEO team for creating such a helpful and powerful plugin!

    Steve,

Thanks for the response. I tried again after a few hours and it miraculously started working (even though I still get the error message from FB). For your reference, this was the link that wasn’t working: https://yogawinetravel.com/hong-kong-happy-hour-my-top-five-spots/

Just FYI: I tried manually selecting different photos under the Social Settings tab, as well as selecting different optiosn for which photo to use (first image in content, default, first attached etc.) and none of these fixed the issue. I’m not sure how/why it worked when I tried again later.

Love the plugin and look forward to the next update!

Facebook caches information about your post for 7 days. You can try to force them to crawl the correct information on your site by using the Developers Debug Tool but this does not always work. If it doesn’t work then you just have to wait 7 days until they clear their cache.
