• I have two vintage photo albums (circa 1850-1910) that I inherited. I want to be able to display one or more photos on a page with corresponding text. I need enough room for text that I can provide a detailed analysis of what is in the photo (for purposes of possibly identifying who the people are).

I saw the beautiful photo templates that were featured in the latest WordPress newsletter, but am wondering whether there is one out there that would fit my particular needs?

  • You do not need special theme for that purpose. Just pick a theme that’s simple so that the content (photo and text) will shine.

Look at Matt’s blog here for example

To post one photo, just display one full size image. To post gallery, just use gallery shortcode. Text is post’s content.

I didn’t see what I’m looking for on Matt’s blog. I’m not saying that this example won’t work, I just didn’t see what it is I’m looking for in it. Essentially, I want a page that will display a photo, say on the left, with text going top to bottom on the right, so one can read the analysis of the photo while looking at the picture. I may just have to design an html page to do what I want.
