Since a few days I noticed that the photo view count for the first picture of the most recent album increases more than what can be explained by the actual visits.

It only seems to affect the very first photo of the most recent album. (It’s on the home page of https://photona.org)

Recently I added following two plugins so the issue might be related:
    – Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights
    – Visitor map

But also after disabling (didn’t try deleting) these plugins the phenomenon remains.

Is there something you can do to solve this?

    Kind regards,
    Dirk

Thank you for reporting this issue.
It has nothing to do with other plugins, but is a side-effect of an earlier enhancement.
It will be fixed in version 6.8.00, available by the end of this week.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you do not use shortcode [photo nnn] you can disable the use of this shortcode type in Table IX-L1. If you do so, the unwanted behaviour stops immediately.

Thanks for fixing the issue so quickly and thanks for the workaround as well!

At this moment I have disabled the use of the shortcode.

I’m glad you continuously try to improve WPPA which is already a great plugin. I don’t mind the fact that this can cause a bug to be introduced as you always act immediately..

    Thanks again!
