photoblog post navigation

hi, i was just wondering if someone knows how to make photoblog navigation so that when you click on the left of the image it goes to the previous image, and on the right of the image it goes to the next image. i’ve seen this done on some sites, but don’t know how to add this onto my own theme. is it some kind of script perhaps? not sure if my description of this is very clear but some sites i’ve seen this are:
