Hello everybody. I’m a beginner with WP and working for my first customer. I need to include photogallery here, but as I load photes to the gallery it works ok. But both in the Themes photogallery and WordPress’ own photogallery the arrows are missing and i can not open photoes to a big size and move forward and back. This can not be normal, what should I do. I still work in Xampp, and am going to transfer pages soon to the webserver.

Also I need to ask, what size (kt) is optimal for photoes 960 x 720px. To lower the size, do you
    1) pack it more (jpg low packing)
    2) use 72 dpi in stead of 96 dpi
    3) low down the px size

No most of the photoes are about 140-180kt. Is this ok? The theme I use is quite a heavy and has slidershow in front page and so on, so I hope the galleryphotoes are light enough.

    Thanks a lot!

WordPress itself does not include this functionality. If you click an image in a default built-in gallery, it either opens the image file or the image’s attachment page depending on your setting, but there will be no way to navigate between them. You’ll need to hit your browser’s back button to go back to the gallery.

Many gallery plugins offer such functionality though. In particular, the https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/jetpack/ offers a feature called Carousel, which provides the type of overlay you’re looking for when interacting with gallery images: https://jetpack.com/support/carousel/

If the theme you’re using is supposed to be offering this functionality too, I recommend contacting your theme’s support.

For some reason the clik does not even open the image file or attachement page.

Maybe I have lost the place to make settings… :/

You’ll find it under the Gallery Block settings: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/gallery-block/#link-to
