Photon causing Slideshow to not load images

Can you re-enable Photon so we can see what’s going on?

Thanks for ‘saying’ you were going to look at this, but I can’t keep this broken on the site.
I re-deactivated Photon.

It seems that Photon can’t download these images at the moment. Could you tell us more about your setup? Do you use any plugins or services to manage your images, or do you restrict access to your images via an Image hotlinking protection service?

I’m not using any additional photo services. Nor have I done anything to the images other than simply upload them to the media library.
Here’s the list of the other plugins:
WP Embed Facebook
Akismet
CMS Commander
Custom Facebook Feed
Google Calendar Events
Jetpack
Lazyest Stylesheet
Sucuri Security
Unlimited Lists Widget

None of these as far as I can see effect the images in any way.

Could you make sure that your site is publicly accessible, and let me know when it’s done? It might be what caused the issue with Photon in the first place.

I get the problem with photon all the time. The parking page you got is a red herring.

I appreciate your attempts to look into this but I’m just going to say good riddance to photon and move on from this issue. I only really brought this up incase it was an issue that other sites were dealing with, and we could have used this forum to resolve it.

I got curious, and tried accessing your site from a WordPress.com server, where Photon lives. I ran the test twice, and pasted the results here:

As you can see, the first time I tried to access your site, I got a 403 page. The second time, I got a response, but it’s not your site; it’s the parking page I got on my machine earlier.

Even though you’ve fixed the issue by disabling Photon, I would suggest that you look into this, as other readers might run into the same problem I did, and won’t always be able to access your site.

Did you recently change your domain’s name servers, by any chance? It could be what’s causing the issue. I checked the propagation of your domain’s name servers, and it looks like in some places, the NS are still set to rookdns, which seems to be a domain reseller.

That’s most likely why I got that parking page, and why I still get it when querying your site from WordPress.com servers. That would also explain why Photon can’t download images from your site, at least when it lands on the parking page.

Thanks for the explanation. I’ve contacted my Host to look into the propagation issue, interested to hear what they have to say.
