• I never had this problem before.

Etc: I upload one product picture. I use it on my product.
Then i do that with different products, and suddenly when i look at my “media” libery – there is several clones of the same pictures, even i only use it ONCE.

This makes the page very slow.

    What is the problem??

    Its a big mess.

When i try to delete some of them, it says that NONE of them are existing af i delete one of them – even though i can see them on screen, and then i have to “delete” all of them and start all over?

    I am confused

WordPress enforced a 1:1 relationship with images in the media library and posts (or products). So if you import images and products or anything like that, they will appear duplicated.

Mike that i really did not understand? ??

Here you see what i was talking about.

    It makes no sense?

If it does that with all my pictures, there will be thousands of the same in the end = to much to comprehend?

I only use ONE picture ONE place… Even that – it shows duplicated a LOT of times in the liberty? Anyone that knows why? And what to do?

How did you add/import these images?

    > Then i do that with different products, and suddenly when i look at my “media” libery – there is several clones of the same pictures, even i only use it ONCE.

How are you using the images? Maybe you can talk me through replicating the issue with a new image.

Its because my english is not THE best.. So it can be a bit difficult to explain.

I want to sell an item.

I go to “product” and add new product.

I “upload” ONE new picture for the “products thumbnail pic” and if there is different variants of pictures, i upload the rest to “Product gallery”.

All this i only do ONCE.

I noticed that after i created some products for sale, most of the images (i only uploaded ONCE and use ONCE) is in the media liberty several times and when i go look for WHERE it should be – its different Filenames ?

There is ONE original – and the rest is different “Filenames”

    I will put example HERE

The first one is the original – the rest is just a couple of example of what it says..

If you want you can get my login to look yourself?

Its a bit diffecult to explain? :-))

    (@infinityjane)

AND if i try to delete all the others except the “original” path.. then the original also disappear.. so i can’t seem to solve this problem…

Ok; if you upload the image to the PRODUCT and the VARIATIONS it will be created multiple times so that WP can link it to each ‘post’.

Upload to the product only. The variations don’t need to have images.

    Thread Starter Infinityjane

    (@infinityjane)

Oh but the example i showed you – did not have variants..?

Only ONE product – ONE variant..

    (@mikejolley)

Then its no different than if you upload the image to a regular post. It uses the same system. Any image you upload via the backend interface will be added to the media library. Just ensure you’re not uploading it in multiple places – e.g. featured image, product description, gallery, variations.

I dont.. but even i dont – it still shows in the liberty many times..

I stopped making more at my shop before i figure out the problem, because or else to many pictures will be repeated in the liberty..

    hmmmmmm..

    Sooo still no solution..

    Strange…

Dont you feel an urge to get my login and look? :-)))

    Plugin Contributor Mike Jolley

    (@mikejolley)

No, because this hasn’t been reported by anyone else and its not happening on my site. So I can only deduce that its a plugin conflict, or something you’re doing when creating the products. Hard to tell ?? If you have repeatable steps to make it happen I’ll try again.

    Thread Starter Infinityjane

    (@infinityjane)

I already have had tried it several times..

I tried to delete all my pictures and do it from start – but same thing happened again.

    :-(((

Maybe you can record your screen, or as I said, give us steps to replicate.
