• I’ve had the same issue for a long time. My links keep appearing on social media (Twitter, Facebook + also on WhatsApp) without images.

I’ve added images to the Yoast SEO section (both for social media + the separate one for Twitter/X). Still, the same thing keeps happening to my links.

The strange thing is that, for example, land-stories.org/aubergine and land-stories.org/wild-plants work whereas, for example, land-stories.org/cumin and land-stories.org/wheat don’t work. It’s very infuriating!

Thanks for any input on this.

    Hello @jenjenyen

Thanks for reaching out regarding your Facebook sharing. I tested both posts you mentioned and the image preview works. See here and here. I recommend testing your URLs with the Facebook Sharing Debugger.

thanks a lot Maybellyne! Thanks for taking the time to look into this. I am still having the same issue when sharing on WhatsApp. I don’t know if there’s anything to do about that. Or if it’s WhatsApp that is behind when images are collected and displayed or not.

    Hi @jenjenyen

According to the FaceBook developer tool screenshots shared in our previous response, Yoast SEO plugin is outputting the correct images, this confirms Yoast SEO output is working as expected.

Our documentation (https://yoast.com/advanced-technical-seo-social-image-ogimage-tags/) says that WhatsApp should use same open graph tags as FaceBook, but you may need to contact WhatsApp support for further clarification if they are using the open graph protocol to generate social previews, or if they use some other metadata to generate a preview.

Thanks a lot. That’s interesting to know, I guess the issue lies with WhatsApp then. Thanks for the info!
