Photostream-sync: Can I use this to maintain a static page gallery?

I was pointed to this plugin from a thread I began on the support forums…
As discussed there, I would like to create a portfolio of photos on a “page” of my website and be able to maintain/manage/update that gallery from my iphone, whilst ‘in the field’.
I tried this plugin out and it works great for actually getting images into a post but can it be used to just create a ‘static’ gallery, with no posting paraphernalia surrounding it, and then upload photos to that gallery?
