php 7.3 deprecated strpos()

    I have this in debug.log
    PHP Deprecated: strpos(): Non-string needles will be interpreted as strings in the future. Use an explicit chr() call to preserve the current behavior in …/plugins/postie/lib/fMailbox.php on line 583.

    post appears to work but are there any consequences with this deprecated code?
