• I need to upgrade to PHP 7.

PHP Compatibility Check issues the following warning. Wondering if the plugin will be updated (we depend on it heavily).

  • 5 months and no reply from the dev. Can I ask what you used as a replacement for this plugin? I’m trying to upgrade to PHP 7 and have also found this error.

It would be great if there were an update to Simple Footnotes.

    Adding on here.

This plugin is intrinsic to my site. Replacing it would be a huge headache.

Hoping (a) the developer responds to this issue or (b) someone forks the project.

Here I wrote a possible solution.

Thanks Aldo. I won’t be able to try this until Saturday, but hope that it works.

Are you a maintainer, and will this fix be rolled into a future release?

I am not a maintainer of this plugin.

Just today I saw this notice and I wanted to contact the author, but it seems that the plugin author is not currently active. So, I edited the plugin and shared the solution with you all.
