PHP 8 Support

  • We are upgrading a site that is using this plugin to PHP 8 and having this plugin activated completely breaks the site. Is there any chance that there is a patch or update that supports PHP 8 in the works? We receive a critical error in the admin dashboard consistently related to the PHP version and cannot access anything at all.

    I am using the plugin on PHP 8 hosts without issues.

    Please provide more specific error messages so that I can check what could break in your case.

    Hi there Thomas! Here is the error that we get in our logs:

    PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Undefined constant “GTM4WP_OPTION_INCLUDE_REMARKETING” in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/complianz-gdpr-premium/integrations/plugins/google-tagmanager-for-wordpress.php:81

    It looks like it is not playing nice with Complianz, unfortunately. When this plugin is deactivated, we can make the upgrade to PHP easily, and this seems to be the only fatal error that we are consistently getting.

    Hi,

    I am sorry but since this error message comes from the Complianz plugin, it can only be fixed in the Complianz plugin.

    GTM4WP does not have a GTM4WP_OPTION_INCLUDE_REMARKETING constant but a GTM4WP_OPTION_INTEGRATE_WCREMARKETING constant. If they change this in their code, I guess the error message will be gone.

    It is not I do not want to fix this but this can not be fixed within GTM4WP, I hope you understand that.
