    Hello,

Our hosting provider is going to switch from PHP 5.3.26 to PHP 5.4.24 and from MySQL 5.1 to MySQL 5.5 real soon.

We are wondering if there is going to be a conflict with your plugin.

    We are using : Contact form 7 version 3.4, 3.4.2, 3.5.3 and 3.6 on WordPress version 3.5.2, 3.7.1 and 3.8.

I would like to have the confirmation that they are compatible with PHP 5.4.24 version and MySQL 5.5 version.

    Thanks

No conflict issues have been reported so far. Upgrading plugins to the latest version is highly recommended.

My hosting provider (Bluehost) told me today:
Contact Form 7 is one of the WordPress plugins that are incompatible with the new PHP version 5.4.
Is that correct? Is there a fix for that?
I have Contact Form 7 (Version 3.6) installed and keep getting the error msg: “Failed to send message.” (red border)
    (FYI: WordPress 3.8.1)
    Thanks!

@jule4489RE: keep getting the error msg: “Failed to send message.” (red border)

See I get an error message with a red border. So, how can I solve this?

Thanks. I saw these instructions already. That’s why I contacted my provider and got the information about the plugin not being compatible with PHP 5.4.
Does it work for others with PHP 5.4???

@jule4489 – Unfortunately I haven’t got any servers using PHP 5.4 to give you confirmation on this.

However as Takayuki advised he has had “no conflict issues reported so far”. As CF7 has over 10000 downloads per day you would expect that he would have had some reports if it was an issue.

Also WordPress clearly supports PHP 5.4. CF7 follows closely to WordPress standards so you would not expect any issues.

I don’t know where your hosting provider is getting his info but I have never seen this raised as an issue in this forum.

Also there are a lot of issues that can cause the “Failed to send message” – it’s highly dependent on your local WP install.

It would IMHO make sense for you do some basic testing on these other issues while awaiting confirmation on PHP 5.4.

I suspect there are a lot of people using CF7 with PHP 5.4 but unfortunately for you, there not reading this post.

I answered 3ejoueur’s question. jule4489, don’t try to hijack other one’s thread. Open your own thread.

    Sorry. No harm intended.

I’ll create a new thread right now.
