PHP deprecation warnings

A tangential matter, and unrelated to this ticket, I was hoping also for insight into this outstanding issue:

To be clear, for me, the plugin serves all properly sized images from your CDN; so I don’t understand why that issue hasn’t been marked as “resolved”.

Hi James, we will check for the PHP warnings on your site and update you.

The plugin right now is not 100% compliant with PHP v8.2 but we are in the continuous process of getting the plugin ready for the latest PHP versions. As PHP v8.2 has a lot of changes w.r.t to variable and method handling, we are trying to make sure the changes we do don’t break the plugin or user sites, so the process might take a bit longer than usual. But we are in process of getting these addressed on our end and shall be coming up with a new release after a few weeks.

As such these warnings don’t affect the site and the plugin functionality but are supposed to be fixed.

@searchiq very much appreciated! I can confirm: There are zero issues with functionality; as these presently are all only deprecation warnings, and not actual errors (at least for now!).

Regarding my second query (above, starting with, “A tangential matter …”), it seems that user’s ticket has been left open-ended; and I was just curious if that issue is something I should keep an eye on; even though, as I said above, from my experience, it seems that issue can / should be closed.

Hi Joseph, thank you for pointing out the warnings with the PHP version.

No, there are no issues with the thumbnails generation or displaying in the search results. There is some specific user case so the ticket is open. We will coordinate with our team and resolve it. Thank you for the observation.
